Just another week (May 24th)

Well, yet another week has gone by and God continues to move in 9 de Octubre. We have more and more people who we are disciplining. Many of them are Catholic, but they are eager to learn and hear what we have to say. Ideally it would be great if they would come to our “new” church, but as we have told them. God told us to go out and preach the gospel and to share his love, so that is what we are trying to do. If the people decided to come to the Nazarene Church, WONDERFUL, and if not that’s ok too.


Last week I met a young man who knows a decent amount of English and was very excited at the chance to practice. He has asked me if I would teach him about the bible in English. I was super excited about this and then I realized all our material is in Spanish. So quickly I set to work on translating, it has been wonderful practice for me.


Esther and I are getting really excited about the project coming up. We went and visited the schools in the area and we think we may have found a winner. They have about 210 students and 9 class rooms. The principle was very nice and was very excited about the possibility of having us come and help her school and kids. If we end up doing the project at this school, we are hoping that we would also be able to use one of the class rooms to have Sunday school once a week. We will just have to wait and see where God leads.


Once a week we have an all group meeting. We have a time of devotion, prayer and sharing. It’s wonderful to hear all that God is doing here in IQT (Iquitos). When I was in Arequipa God gave me this verse from Joshua, it says: “….and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given this land to you and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear.”


There is no doubt in my mind that God has gone (and is going) before us and has been (and is) working in the hearts of the Men, Women, and Children of IQT. We give Him all the glory!!!
